The General Authority for Statistics of Saudi Arabia (GASTAT) has announced the umrah statistics for the second quarter of 2025, with a total of 5,443,393 pilgrims from both domestic and international origins.
Of this total, 3,352,506 pilgrims were men (61.6%), while 2,090,887 pilgrims were women (38.4%), according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) report.
The report shows that 1,090,327 local pilgrims performed umrah during the period, accounting for 48.4 percent of the total pilgrims.
Meanwhile, the number of pilgrims arriving from abroad was 1,324,418, including 653,513 men (49.3%) and 670,905 women (50.7%).
Regarding entry points, 71.6% of international pilgrims arrived by air, 28.2% by land, while 0.2% arrived by sea.
Umrah statistics are issued regularly to provide accurate data on the number of visitors from both domestic and international sources, serving as an important reference to support policies and planning related to umrah and visitation services.
The authorities emphasize that the increase in the number of pilgrims is supported by investments in transportation and accommodation infrastructure in the holy areas.
Preliminary analysis shows that the peak umrah season is now increasing throughout the year, differing from the traditional pattern focused on specific months.
